Dr. Titi Adegboyega is a board certified general surgeon and fellowship trained colon and rectal surgeon. Dr. Adegboyega provides a full range of consultative, diagnostic and therapeutic services involving surgery for patients with diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus.

Her clinical specialties include the management of diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus, including colon, rectal and anal cancer, diverticulitis, familial polyposis, chronic ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s Disease, ileoanal reservoir (J-pouch), colon polyps, incontinence, prolapse, anorectal abscess, fistulas, fissure and hemorrhoids.

In the summer of 2016, Dr. Adegboyega joined Dr. David Rivadeneira and Northwell Health Physician Partners as an attending colorectal surgeon. She provides exceptional care with cutting edge technology at Huntington Hospital in Huntington, Southside Hospital in Bay Shore and Plainview Hospital in Plainview, New York.

Dr. Adegboyega attended the University of Oklahoma for college and then the University of Minnesota for medical school. She completed her general surgery residency at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She then completed fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at Brown Alpert Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

Dr. Adegboyega is a Assistant Professor of Surgery at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School /Hofstra School of Medicine and is member of the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

Dr. Adegboyega shares Dr. Rivadeneira’s vision to provide a patient-centered environment of caring and comfort. She treats every patient as if they were his own family.


 Shirley Shih, M.D.  Colorectal Surgeon

Shirley MD is a board certified general surgeon and colon and rectal surgeon. Dr. Shih’s expertise encompasses the management of diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus, including colon, rectal and anal cancer, diverticulitis, familial polyposis, chronic ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s Disease, ileoanal reservoir (J-pouch), colon polyps, incontinence, prolapse, anorectal abscess, fistulas, fissure and hemorrhoids.

Prior to joining Dr. Rivadeneira’s practice in 2017, Dr. Shih was a member of a busy private practice group in the Pennsylvania for seven years. Dr. Shih is highly skilled at laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery and other minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of colorectal diseases, including cancer. She also performs colonoscopy.

Board certified in surgery and colon and rectal surgery, Dr. Shih received her medical degree from Albany College of Medicine. She completed her residency in surgery at the George Washington University. Dr. Shih then completed her fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida Colorectal Research Fellowship & Indiana University/Kendrick Regional Center Clinical Colorectal Fellowship

Dr. Shih is a Assistant Professor in Surgery at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine at Hofstra University. Dr. Shih is also a staff physician at Huntington Hospital in Huntington, New York and is affiliated with Plainview Hospital. In addition, Dr. Shih has privileges at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, New York, which is part of the distinguished North Shore-LIJ Health System.

Dr. Shih is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, New York Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.


Marco A. Berrones, Jr., PA
Physician Assistant

BerronesMarco A. Berrones is a board certified and licensed physician assistant in New York State with a concentration in general surgery. He has recently specialized in the colorectal surgery field. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology from St. John’s University, he went on to receive his physician assistant degree from St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center’s Physician Assistant Program. He is a member of the American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants and is an allied health member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Marco lives in Queens, New York with his wife and daughter. He speaks fluent Spanish.

Licensed by the State of New York and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), physician assistants (PAs) are highly trained health care professionals who practice medicine as members of a team with a supervising colon and rectal surgeon. Physician assistants deliver a wide range of medical and surgical services. As part of our comprehensive approach to patient care, Marco conducts physical exams, diagnoses and treats illnesses, orders and interprets tests, counsels on preventive health care, assists in surgery and prescribes medications.
