Jacob Eisdorfer, DO
Colorectal Surgeon

EisodorferJacob Eisdorfer, DO is a board certified general surgeon and fellowship trained colon and rectal surgeon. Dr. Eisdorfer provides a full range of consultative, diagnostic and therapeutic services involving surgery for patients with diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus.

His clinical specialties include the management of diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus, including colon, rectal and anal cancer, diverticulitis, familial polyposis, chronic ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s Disease, ileoanal reservoir (J-pouch), colon polyps, incontinence, prolapse, anorectal abscess, fistulas, fissure and hemorrhoids.

In the summer of 2013, Dr. Eisdorfer was recruited to Dr. Rivadeneira’s practice due to his training in cutting-edge techniques to manage colon and rectal conditions, including advanced endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, high resolution anoscopy, and sacral nerve stimulation for the treatment of fecal incontinence. He also performs colonoscopy.

In 2013, Dr. Eisdorfer was appointed as an attending colon and rectal surgeon at Huntington Hospital in Huntington, New York and is affiliated with Plainview Hospital. In addition, Dr. Eisdorfer has privileges at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, New York, which is part of the distinguished North Shore-LIJ Health System.

A native New Yorker, Dr. Eisdorfer moved to Long Island for college and medical school, and then returned to New York City for general surgery training, which he completed at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center-Manhattan and State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Eisdorfer received his DO from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also completed his fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support by the American Heart Association and Advanced Trauma Life Support  by the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Eisdorfer shares Dr. Rivadeneira’s vision to provide a patient-centered environment of caring and comfort. He treats every patient as if they were his own family and he speaks fluent Yiddish.


Cesar Sanz, MD
Colorectal Surgeon

SanzCesar Sanz, MD is a board certified general surgeon and colon and rectal surgeon. Dr. Sanz’s expertise encompasses the management of diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus, including colon, rectal and anal cancer, diverticulitis, familial polyposis, chronic ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s Disease, ileoanal reservoir (J-pouch), colon polyps, incontinence, prolapse, anorectal abscess, fistulas, fissure and hemorrhoids.

Prior to joining Dr. Rivadeneira’s practice in 2013, Dr. Sanz was a staff member at Advanced Colon and Rectal Surgery, LLC and PC for nine years. Dr. Sanz is highly skilled at laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery and other minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of colorectal diseases, including cancer. He also performs colonoscopy.

Board certified in surgery and colon and rectal surgery, Dr. Sanz received his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine. He completed his residency in surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Sanz completed his fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

In January 2013, Dr. Sanz received the academic appointment of Community Preceptor at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine at Hofstra University. Dr. Sanz is also a staff physician at Huntington Hospital in Huntington, New York and is affiliated with Plainview Hospital. In addition, Dr. Sanz has privileges at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, New York, which is part of the distinguished North Shore-LIJ Health System.

Dr. Sanz is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, New York Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Brooklyn/Long Island Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, Nassau Surgical Society and the Suffolk County Medical Society. Marco A. Berrones, Jr., PA
Physician Assistant

BerronesMarco A. Berrones is a board certified and licensed physician assistant in New York State with a concentration in general surgery. He has recently specialized in the colorectal surgery field. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology from St. John’s University, he went on to receive his physician assistant degree from St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center’s Physician Assistant Program. He is a member of the American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants and is an allied health member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Marco lives in Queens, New York with his wife and daughter. He speaks fluent Spanish.

Licensed by the State of New York and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), physician assistants (PAs) are highly trained health care professionals who practice medicine as members of a team with a supervising colon and rectal surgeon. Physician assistants deliver a wide range of medical and surgical services. As part of our comprehensive approach to patient care, Marco conducts physical exams, diagnoses and treats illnesses, orders and interprets tests, counsels on preventive health care, assists in surgery and prescribes medications.
